Often, my local WalMart is out of the inexpensive WWB that I use for general practice with my handguns.
I tried a box of the WinClean in .380 and was surprised by how clean the inside of the fired casings were. Unfortunately, I had always fired them in conjunction with either WWB or UMC and therefore couldn't determine if they were indeed cleaner overall.
I remedied that a few nights ago. I only had an hour or so to spare and had a hundred rounds of WinClean. These are noticably cleaner rounds. Normally, the muzzle end of my PPK/S slide is blackened after a range session. The chamber is also in obvious need of a cleaning.
While the bore still needed a cleaning, it was not as fouled as it normally would be, and the rest of the handgun could have went comfortably without it.
These rounds are jacketed "backwards." They have the jacket around the sides and back of the bullet, giving the appearance of a filled in hollowpoint. The jacket at the rear of the projectile preportedly prevents the lead from melting all over the inside of your handgun. I think they have may some sort of modified primer and powder as well, as the spent casings look unfired.
