I would like to buy my father in law a belt holster for his ruger p 90. He hikes long distances in rugged areas. What brand/style would be the most comfortable? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

onthemark; Welcome to our forum. For walking alot, especially on rough terrain, I would not want a pancake style holster with a high ride and tight hug. For comfort in a leather belt holster, I find the Bianchi #19 a good choice. The belt plays the role in making the holster more comfortable around the waist; I prefer a pistol belt with a suede lining. One of the most comfortable belts I've worn, is a well broken in military web belt but they are too wide to accept most holsters with belt loops, so I have to use a drop style holster. I've used the military web belt all my life, in the Boy Scouts and Military; I also retain the holster to where the rig can be easily taken off and looped over my shoulder during brief rests. Sometimes the most comfortable belt and holster will cost much less than those offered by the more expensive lines. I've used a lightweight military web pistol belt with a ten dollar Uncle Mike's nylon holster for my steel frame 1911s. The Bianchi #19 Web Belt and H.H. Heiser Drop Holster

It all depends on your price range too. Prices vary form $30-200+. I forget the model numbers, but Fist makes a few pretty decent holster for them too. I would prefer a OWB style belt holster, and I like the FBI/forward cant. As far as fastening styles, probably a loop style. Check out www.rigrate.comyou can run a search for available holsters for the P90 and decide from there.
