One of the things mentioned in the recent video I watched was the "Beamhit" system from: www.beamhit.com This is a laser rod that is inserted into the barrel and shoots a beam of light at the target when you pull the trigger. The target then records the hit. There are a couple of system available, but the 190 system in particular interested me. My ammo cost is seriously hurting my gun acquisitions in order to stay within budget. If this system works as advertised, it seems like a good way to practice without it costing serveral cents each time you pull the trigger. You wouldn't experience the recoil, but other than that it seems like it would closely mimic what live shooting is about. Not only that, you wouldn't ahve to clean the gun when you got done. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about it?

I had something like that on my Atari 2600 when I was about 10 or so... ;D
Just playing with you TMan. It would be fun, but I'm not so sure it would translate into more accurate shots once the recoil and noise comes back into the picture.

TMan; I saw the Beamhit Lazer advertized alot, and I also saw where a hollow rod could be inserted into the bore to shoot rubber pellets on another practice system. The best thing I've used in lieu of firing live ammunition are the .177 cal. pellet pistols. The BB and Pellet pistols is what started me as a youngster, being under age. I know we talked about this before and the Dynamite Nobel RWS C-225 German made model of the Sig 225.

Well, I thought about a better air pistol, (the one I have really makes my finger sore after 100 rounds), but what appealed to me with the Beamhit system is that it would be the same gun that I would be shooting at the range later in the day. That way I'd be used to the sights, and the trigger pull.
The 9mm rod would also fit my .38 Specials, and .357 magnums. I have doubts how well it would work on my .22's with their long barrels. So, I'd probably just go for the 9mm rod and the .45 rod.
I was just wondering if anyone had used one, or knew of any bad press about them. The price is only slightly more than a case of .45 ammo.
