loki; Alot of members buy their 9mm ammo from Walmart, especially the Winchester White Box, and you are not plagued with shipping costs. If you get around to the .45 acp, I'll tell you of some real good stuff to use in your pistol.

hard to beat the price of walmart and the whitebox. That's the 9mm I usually shoot.

WWB is good, relatively inexpensive stuff for target practice and plinking. I wouldn't use it for a carry gun, but it has good one-shot stop characteristics for paper and tin cans. ;D

cheaperthandirt.com is good if you must use a website. also there are sometimes people selling stuff on gunbroker. however, i think it is worth it to spend 50 cents more or whatever it takes to support local business (i.e. NOT WALMART). i look at walmart the same way islamic folk look at the US: the great satan> . happy shooting deef

I buy the Winchester white box in other calibers , and I've often paid no more for it than I do by other manufacturers. I do not buy my ammunition from my local Walmart because they quit selling Handguns; When they sold them, they sold some very good guns at excellent prices.

I found a local gunstore selling Blazer Brass for $100/1,000 round case. Good practice ammo, equal of WWB. Adventure Outdoors, Smyrna, GA. Check your stores in the area. Academy Sports in AL has good deals too. I usually buy Georgia Arms 124gr Nato. A little hotter than +P, but snot on with a Glock on.

One of the things to think about when buying on-line is you need to factor in shipping costs. However, unless you are buying from a company that does business in your state, you seldom will have to pay sales tax. Since here in Taxas that is 8.5%, you can still end up better off paying the shipping charges. I buy all of mine from CheaperThanDirt, but I pick it up at the local store. My salesman gets a commission on everything he sells, so I see him and buy it by the case. I'm good to him, and he has returned the favor saving me hundreds of dollars on purchases. I normally buy my .22LR from midwayusa.com because the shipping charges aren't much (sometimes they have specials where they pay the freight) compared to the sales tax. I'm not cheap - I'm frugal.
