Has anyone tried M-Pro 7 Cleaner, which is supposed to (according to manufacturer) remove carbon deposits?
I'd like to let my dealer shoot the 460XVR using 45 Long Colt ammo, but I know that is going to create a lot of carbon, and I'm still looking for the ideal method for removing it.
After seeing the muzzle jump she got with the S&W M&P, with the DMP rod no less, I'm not about to let her shoot the hot stuff in the 460 XVR.

TMan; Since your revolver is stainless, you will not have the problem of being concerned with the finish as one would with the carbon steel blued and nickle plated finishes. The lead free cloth, after being cleaned with automotive carb cleaner or Gun Scrubber, might work. I've used the lead remover cloth to remove stubborn stains on the cylinder face but I have had to delicately scrape the carbon off other guns. I would try a small bottle of the M-Pro 7 just to see if it works, if your dealer has it. I'm always up for stuff they might have on the counters at the range, which I have yet to try. If your dealer carries the M-Pro 7, ask her about it and what you intend on using it on; she might offer you a free sample.

DA, I'm looking for an easier way than the lead-free cloth, which is what I currently use. I was looking for something easier.
No, my dealer doesn't have it. I'd have to order it over the internet. I've been disappointed before with supposedly carbon removers, and rather than be disappointed again, I thought I'd ask if anyone had tried it.

TMan; If I run across any M-Pro 7 on the shelves, I'll buy some and try it. I do know that if carbon fouling is allowed to set for a long period of time, it can be very hard to get off. Bead blasted stainless has given me the most problems, usually around the forcing cone area of the frame. Give me a few days to check around; I have one revolver I just bought that has a small carbon spot I can test it out on.

TMan; I checked at our local range and they did not have the M-Pro 7. They had various lead remover solvents but none gave mention to removing the carbon fouling. I have other local sources that I haven't yet checked with; I'll try them during the week.

Never mind DA; I ordered some of it in the gel version from Brownells. I needed a part, so I just added it to the order.
