At the gunsmith's today I saw an old H&R revolver that was chambered in 22LR and had the original box, receipt, and instruction booklet.
The gun had a really great trigger. I was getting interested until I read the instruction manual. They were different back then. They didn't have 20 pages of introductory safety information.
Anyhow, they mentioned that you had to use "greased" bullets in the gun to prevent leading. Well, that is the first time I'd seen anything like that. The owner told me I could have it for $120 vs the $150 price on it. Keep in mind this was the guy that sold me the engraved Jennings J-22.
Anyhow their warning really turned me off. I wondered what could be going on with the barrel unless you used "greased" bullets. Anyone ever heard of this?

The grease has been replaced with coatings. In W-W it means the copper wax coat in all others it is different. Remington uses the golden bullet. Hope this helps.
