I bought the Springer Precision Trigger Upgrade Kit for XD from www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=05SSA because they had on-line ordering. As stated on their web-site, the kit consists of a Polished Reduced Travel Sear, Sear Spring, Trigger Spring, Striker Springer and Striker Safety Spring.
There is no need to drive out the pin to remove the striker. You do however have to remove the Striker Safety Retaining Pin (26), which just pulls out after you removed the Striker Plate (27), which just slides down after pressing in on Striker Spring Guide (28). You can then pull up the Striker Safety (33) and remove the spring underneath it and replace it with the spring in the kit.
On the frame the only thing difficult was getting the Locking Block (4) back into place. I had to remove the Slide Stop Lever (18) in order to get the block in place. Then with a small punch pushing up on the Slide Stop Lever Spring though the hole for the take-down lever I was able to get the Slide Stop Lever into place.
I'm very pleased with the results. Previously, you could see the Striker Status Indicator moving towards you as you pulled the trigger, which meant it had a very positive engagement. Now you can barely see it move at all, and the trigger feels somewhere between 3.5 to 4 lbs.
One thing that I was going to do, but forgot to do was to polish the striker tang where it is engaged by the sear. I probably forgot that because I didn't remove the striker from the slide.
It took me a little over 2 hours to install the kit because of the problems getting the locking block back into place.
Personally, I like the internal design of the XD better than I do of the Glock. It appears to be a lot more robust.
I was rather surprised when I got to the point that I could shoot the Glock better than I could the XD. Now I'll see with the improved trigger if I'm back to shooting the XD better.
5OT, thanks for steering me to this product.
