Finally the XD has become popular enough for aftermarket companies to start making drop in parts.
Barsto is currently developing a new sear and trigger sold together or separately. It is rumored to have an adjustable reset/pretravel, and overtravel stop. Current prototype tested was 2.2lb pull. (I'm sure this could be varied further up/down with some spring changes)
As of today, the R&D is completed and they are starting the CNC programming.

Wow, that is impressive. I haven't measured the trigger on my XD lately, but the last time I did it was 6.75lbs. What is strange is that I actually shoot better with it than I do with the Glock, which measured 3lbs. Something about the way that the trigger feels.
It isn't just my gun either because I shot my instructor's Glock and his XD. I liked the XD so much better I borrowed his to take my CHL test.
I think of the XD as a defensive weapon, so 2.2lbs is a little light for that purpose. However, being the great paper killer that I am, I'd certainly go for it.
I'm wondering what your source of information is; I didn't see anything on the Barsto web-site?

The info came from the XD forum, the information is posted over there. Bob Hostetter works for barsto, and does some competitive shooting. He states the sear should drop in at 3.5#, 2.5 with a little tinkering, and lower with spring changes. I'd imagine if things go well, we'll see them in the next couple weeks.

That sounds good. It would be nice to be able to adjust take up and reset, but I would prefer 3.5 - 4 lbs. for defense.

I received word from barsto, they won't be available until mid summer to the general public, due to produciton delays. They will install it through their custom shop though...if you can't wait.

And since they are responsible for the delays, I'm sure they will install it for no additional charge? ;D

;D What would life be like without humor? Of course I used to hear people talking behind my back saying that I was a "funny guy". For a long time I thought it was a compliment. ;D
Seriously, I like your GIF with the flag. Classy!!!

and install the new magwells that they make too, for no additional charge. And one of their match grade barrels too.
Oh yeah, and put a nice matte black hard chrome finish on the slide too.
I apparently forgot to include that in my earlier post.
