There was a guy at the range today that was shooting a Ruger MK I with a Volquartsen Compensator on it. Watching him shoot it, I could see hardly any perceivable muzzle flip.
He asked me if I wanted to shoot it and I said: Yes!!! He had a red-dot scope on it, which I didn't care for, but otherwise it was a sweet shooter. Wish he would offer to let me shoot his Cooper.
I didn't care much for the MK I. I never did figure out how to release the slide (he had to do it for me), and at the end of the magazine, it didn't lock open.
Normally us ole farts say things like: "they sure don't make them like they used to." However, I must say that with the Rugers, each new version of the Mark x has been an improvement.

TMan; I never saw much sense in having a compensator of a .22 rimfire until I saw a guy shooting a bull barreled .22 which had virtually no much flip whatsoever on rapid fire. A camera was dead focused on the muzzle while he was shooting and the muzzle had not the slightest movement to it whatsoever. I shoot only CCI Mini Mags through my .22 rimfires and have noticed some muzzle flip with lighter barrels, which lessens with the heavier bull barrels.

DA, Wal-Mart is carrying the new Federal Auto-Match. Several of us have had good luck with it. It shoots better in some of my rifles that the high dollar match stuff does. I think it is around $10 for 325 rounds and seems to work quite well.
I saw it reviewed on the Outdoor Channel and they said it was powerful enough to operate the "Auto"'s, but accurate enough to give it a match name.
As I've mentioned before, the thing that really convinced me to use the CCI Mini Mags all the time was the experience with the PPK/s. With other ammo, I couldn't get through a magazine without some type of a jam. I put 400 continuous rounds through it without a failure using the CCI Mini-Mags.
However, in some of my more accurate rifles, the Mini-Mags don't give me as good groups as some other ammo, like Wolf, Eley, and CCI Standard Velocity do.
