Attention Singleaction and others on the forum who own or know someone who owns a Sako or Tikka rifle with a stainless barrel. The following is from a site called Garner's Sporting Goods. There also is info on Alaska Hunting Forum and The Gun Zone. I believe it was the Gun Zone that included some disturbing photos of massive failures on these rifles which included injury to the shooter:
"According to Beretta USA, there is a recall on certain Sako and Tikka rifles with stainless barrels that were manufactured around February 2004. It has to do with a particular batch of substandard stainless steel and could result in a massive failure. If you purchased a stainless rifle after Feb 2004, please contact the Sako / Tikka Recall Center immediately at 800-503-8869 with your rifle's serial number and they will tell you if your firearm is affected."

Hi Callahan! Thanks for the heads up! A good shooting buddy had found out about the well "hidden" recall, about several months ago, and informed me. Called a special #, and they said my rifle was not part of the recall. Thanks, Charlie

Good. They are not being very up front about that, are they?
