Win WB 55 grain.
It's gonna be awhile before I start reloading, so I've got to play with the factory ammo for now.

I don't know how much your paying, but I get my 55 gr. fmj .223 from georgia arms at 500 rds for $80.

That's a great price... I'll have to try some of that out. I plan on trying out a lot of different ammo so I can see what the VS likes. At the distances for which I'll be using this AR, I'll probably be happy with only two or three different loads.

Fobos; My AR gets nothing but the georgia arms .223; It's good clean ammo. Have you got your speed strips and magazine loader ? We used those in Vietnam with the M-16, I still load my magazines the same way.

We used those in Vietnam with the M-16, I still load my magazines the same way. We called them "stripper clips" in the Corps. I love those things... I had a blast shooting this rifle over the weekend. It's definately my new favorite. If the weather improves this weekend, I'll put some targets out past the 200 to see how accurate she is. Next on my list of projects is my 16" Bushie Carbine.

My goof; We called them stripper clips too, still do, I've just been around handguns too long. Speed strips are used with revolvers.

How do the hi-cap mags work and how many rds before the shots wander? Thanks livnhel; If your referring to the 30 rd. magazines, they work in a staggered stacking curved magazine. The 30 rd. magazines might be too long if your shooting in the prone position. For accuracy, I've known the Colt HBAR 1/9 inch twist rate barrels to hold up to almost 10,000 rds before the rifling burned out. I've put over 500 rds through mine with no noticeable difference, using the 55 gr. FMJ bullets.

Hi DA what I ment to say was , if I started with a 30 rd mag how many rds before the barrel heated up and accuracy went down. Thanks
