Once again showing that some people might have too much free time... I was reading a recent issue of The Shotgun News, and saw an advertisement for a conversion kit for a Ruger 10/22 to an AK-47. I don't have an AK, nor a 10/22, nor do I want a .22 AK, but I was impressed that someone took the time to tool one. www.krinkerplinker.com

Whoa, "C&S" I would think that Bill Laughridge, President Cylinder & Slide Inc. might take exception to that. Also, did you notice their address:
"Suite H" that sounds mightly like a Mail Box service.

That does look pretty neat, although I like the swing type stock rather than the fold out.

Can you hear that rattling noise? I'm shaking my head. In the first case, the Klinker Plinker, you retain the receiver from your Ruger, and install a "match grade" barrel. The other changes are cosmetic. So you end up with something that looks like an AK, but has the Ruger 10/22 fire control. So it will look like an AK-47, but shoot 22 LR with a proven fire control system. Why do I want this With the SOG offering, you get a trainer, which would have the AK-47 fire control group. This would teach the recruits how to fire, disassemble etc. If I was in love with the way the AK-47 was designed/worked, I might buy one. Since I personally don't care much for the AK-47, you won't see one of these taking up space in my mil-surp cabinet. Now a SKS that shoots 22LR, I might be interested in that if I was in the market for another 22LR. The reason being that I like the design/manufacturing of the SKS.
