During the going out of business sale at Winchester, I managed to pick up two of the model 94's. One was chambered in 45 Colt and the other in 357 Magnum. I shot the 357 today, because I'm going to let my dealer's wife shoot it in a couple of weeks, and I needed to know what the recoil was like. I don't understand why manufacturers can't come up with a solution of how to ship a gun. My S&W MP-15 was dripping in oil. The Winchester had none. I noticed that the action wasn't all that smooth on the 94. Then I added oil at the points that the manual identified. (Yes, I do read manuals). Big difference. It really smoothed it out. After first shooting at 25 yards, I called a cease-fire and moved the target out to 50 yards. I was very pleased with the results. No, it didn't shoot as well as some of my mil-surp, but it wasn't bad. What really pleased me was the lack of recoil. It was even less than the what I get with the SKS. She will enjoy shooting it. Oh this is sweet, they say to clean it from the muzzle. %^$#&*
