Well, after shooting Mil-Surp for the better part of this last year, I did spring for a couple of lever action carbines, and most recently the Savage.
I must say that the results at the range with the Savage were impressive. I was using the inexpensive Monarch ammo at $9/box. A local LEO told me that he has shot a lot of it and really likes it.
I can't say that the gun out-shoots the Swedish Mauser because it is an apple to oranges comparison since the Mauser doesn't have sights. What I will say is that is the highest score that I've ever shot.
Savage really has something with their Accu-Trigger.
