I know double action likes most of the wilsom combat gear, I wonder if you or anyone has used the "group grabber" kind of a tapered rear end guide rod & link to help force the barrel up into the lugs.
sounds good on paper. Thanks

papercytter; Sorry I'm late in responding to this, I just saw it as I was going through the boards this evening. The Wilson Group grabber is to improve the lock up on those barrels which have become worn and loose. I like alot of the Wilson innovations, and I like the way the slot is cut into the guide rod head to accomodate the link on the CQBs. Being without the group grabber on my Colts, I would first prefer to fix the problem rather than put a patch on it. I can live without the Group Grabber because a new barrel is not that expensive. If the lugs are worn and broken down on the slide, I think it would be time for an over haul job, after all, the frame is all you need to get started on a new build up.

DoubleAction
It appeared to me ,to be a link that put more pressure on the barrel, up into the lugs giving a more consistent lock up. They list a 20-30% increase in accuracy
I wasn't thinking of it as a FIX for a sloppy fitted / worn pistol.
I just thought someone my have used it . Most of that wilson stuff is first rate gear.

The group grabber is a good idea for improving accuracy, but Wilson only bought the patent from Dan Dwyer's invention. Even Bill Wilson recommends the fitting of a match barrel over the option of the group gripper for the stock barrels. It is still a good idea to look into a fitted barrel bushing and slide to frame fit to get the full benefit of the group gripper. As Bill Wilson puts it; The Group Gripper is an inexpensive way to get target grade accuracy out of a standard gun. I would most definitely recommend it to improve the accuracy of stock barrels, but I would still fit the barrel with a new bushing.
