The Viking Holsters are made in Mexico, which I find to be very well made holsters and very reasonably priced. The Holster I have here is suede lined and constructed as well as any high quality holster on the market. The unique thing about the Viking is the thumb snap release, and how it allows the use of an extended thumb safety on the 1911. Most thumb snap releases stretch over the extended safety, often disengaging the safety unintentionally. The Viking seems to work real good with the Galco harness straps. Both the holster, and double mag pouch is made by Viking of Mexico.

Very interesting. I really like shoulder holster carry, but the X-type harness is a little uncomfortable for me after a while. This Fall, I'm going to try out the Alessi Bodyguard, which has a rather unique harness design, not to mention an interesting pull-through snap that goes through the trigger guard, which I may or may not opt into mine, when I put in my order with Lou Alessi. If someone else hasn't covered it by then, I'll write up my impressions and post a thread here.
