This is the S&W Model 657 .41 Magnum Montain Gun. It was made only 1 year, 1998. I have had my sights set on getting a stainless .41 Magnum for quite a while. I really like the round, and the stainless versions are more tolerant to abuse and cleaning. This gun was a little beat up. The previous owner had a rear sight screw that was too long, so the cylinder was contacting the screw making nice little round burs all the way around. Since I had to clean that up anyway, I did the whole gun including re-bead blasting the top strap and (of course) a set of Ahrends grips. It originally had the laser etched logo's, but they couldn't be spared and I don't particularly care for them anyway. It has lost it's factory originality, but it is a nice shooter now and I plan on keeping it anyway.

What kind of setup do you use for the bead blasting? I've seen sandblasting stands that look like they might work for that.
Those grips could make even a Glock look good ;D

Thank you guys! I am really pleased with Kim Ahrends work. Everything we have received is really nice!
MLB, I have a bead blasting cabinet. You can buy them from Harbor Freight. They also have glass beads, but I prefer the smaller beads. I bought glass and Alum. Oxide from some blasting media company in various sizes in ~50 lb bads.
