I doubt if anyone can deny the effect and impact how Hollywood has influenced the popularity of certain firearms. Movies and Television most often exaggerates the realism of firearms in order to magnify the cinematic illusion. Many movies have annoyed us with things like the gangsta method of gripping a handgun and guns that never seem to run out of bullets. However; With all the unforgiving flaws we have seen, countless times, on the big screen, there are those producers and directors who remain loyal to the art of depicting firearms in a convincing presentation as part of their portfolio. Many movies or television productions have served no other purpose than to introduce the general public to certain handguns or holster designs. Some movies have revived or escalated the popularity guns and gun fashions, as we have seen in the aftermath of the movie "Tombstone". Because there are so many movies and television programs depicting guns, good and bad, I felt this topic needed it's own mesaage board, with each disccussion having it's own thread.

Cool category for a thread. Since my born again interests into firearms, my movie and tube watching has been more critical of directors and they way they depcit firearm realism and technique. It's funny I'll be at work in the middle of our ops center where we monitor ad insertion but when there is a show or movie with firearms I am immediatley eyeing the firearm in the scene with my co-workers in amusement with my commentary of what is right or wrong with the scene followed by a guess of what the firearm might be. How fun it is...!
