This A&E Movie is based on actual events occuring during WWI when a company was cut off from the rest of it's division for 5 days, while maintaining their position against overwhelming odds by enemy forces. Rick Shroder plays the role of the young officer faced with the command. Producing such a movie, based on historical fact, would require alot of respect to detailed accuracy. One thing brought to my attention in this production was the use of the 1911 as an advantage over a bolt action rifle at very close range combat. The Officer, played by Rick Shroder, used the 1911 as a primary weapon in defending against enemy attacks at close range throughout the scenes. The 1911 also served to aide in the trench warfare tactics used during WW I, which no doubt, resulted in such a mass demand for the pistol. I was satisfied to see a movie depicting the 1911 serving it's intended purpose for which it was designed.
