I've been watching the new series "The Unit" on one of the 3 major networks (I can't remember which one) and aside from being entertaining in general, it provides plenty of opportunities to display various firearms.
In addition to the SIG 230, a Colt Woodsman (I believe), and a Beretta 92, there was a scene showing the proper way to check a handgun including dropping the magazine and physically feeling the chamber to be certain that no cartridge was present. I was impressed also in seeing that in most cases, firearms in hand displayed the trigger finger alonside the frame, not on the trigger as is so common in Hollywood.

I have not gotten a chance to sit down and watch this new series, although I know that one of the technical advisiros is Eric Haney I believe, one of the founding members of Delta Force. So I hope that techincally in all aspects of weapons, gear, and technique, it is as close to real as it gets without the Hollywood director mucking it up. I remember at the start of this season's television season I remember an interview with Haney and how he wanted to be involved to guide Hollywood in getting it "right". So I hope the series is lviing up to that end.

Having no military experience myself, I can't really say. I do like the show so far.
From a standpoint of someone who has more than the average couch potato's understanding of firearms though, the vast majority of it looks like it's done right. Fingers off triggers, no double taps at 100yds with a revolver, etc.

I've only seen the show a couple of times. I like the show, but for some reason I'm never around when it is on. And I forget to program my computer to record it, or if I program it, I forget to leave it on.
