This is one. most of us already know the answer to but it's a topic we have not discussed in quite a while. This was the question I found elsewhere : My opinion about using auto rimmed cartridges, that have ejected over and over, without having been fired, is against the purpose of ever loading the cartridge in the first place. Auto rim cartridges are intended to be chambered once, any more times will affect bullet seating. There are bullet crimps that can be applied to the cartridge case, which will help prevent the bullet from seating deeper into the case when being chambered. I usually place those cartridges, that I clear from the chamber of my house pistol, in a special tray. Those cartridges are those which I've chambered only once and ejected. Before I decide to ever shoot these cartridges, I'll check the Over All Length (O.A.L.) of the cartridge before I decide to shoot it at the range. No sense in blowing up a nice pistol, or something more valuable, for the sake of saving a few cents on ammunition.
