DS Arms is importing and distributing the Swiss made TP-9. It is a 9mm semi-auto that comes with a 15 and a 30 round (shown) magazine. I wasn't aware that it had the smaller magazine until I tried to install the 30 round one. Whoops.
Although I tend to not believe that Tupperware is as strong as metal (with the exception of things made of the Jennings type of metal), this gun is built like a tank.
The reason I bought the Desert Eagle (in 44 mag) was that I'd shot one, and the guy took it apart and showed me how well it was made internally. Well, the DE was made to handle the 50 AE round. I have no idea what the TP9 was designed to handle, but it is built like a tank. It locks up with a rotation much like the DE.
The trigger return spring is from a screen door. I can't believe how big it is, and it adds a lot to the trigger pull, which according to others is around 9lbs. However, it doesn't feel all that bad. I will, at some point, replace the return spring because it appears to be something standard that you could easily pick up at the hardware store.
Also in the box is a strap that goes over your shoulder and hooks onto the rear of the pistol. I've never used one like this and I'll see how much stability that it adds when shooting the gun.
One of the things I found that was strange was an indentation on the side of the bolt. Turns out that if it jams, you can stick a case from a 9mm round in there to use as a lever to pry it open.
Although it has a glock type safety on the trigger it does not have a magazine disconnect.
It is "available" with either a threaded barrel or without one. As I write this it is just the threaded one that is in stock. It does have a thread protector installed, which I appreciate. Also for those of you in blue states, there are 10 round magazines available.
