Anybody know anything about the Romanian TTC? It interests me because it shoots the 7.62X25MM round, which I have a lot of but don't shoot in the CZ-52 because of the trigger slap. I don't recall ever hearing about the TTC.

Pretty much a Tok. Most of the more recent imports have a safety and/or decocker added. edit, never mind the rest. Read XB's post, pretty much covers it.

Well, I picked one up today - HG1523-V, which is the "very good" category. As in the picture it does have a somewhat dorky safety on the left side. I was a bit surprised to see the american style magazine release on the left size instead of on the bottom like the european guns.
The trigger has a lot of take-up, but then a surprisingly clean and light break. It doesn't have the little catch in the trigger where the hammer group shifts in the frame like the M-88 has.
As long as I don't have problems in shooting it, I think I'm going to be very pleased with the pistol. I think it is an excellent design.
Prior to field stripping it, I looked in the index of the Gun Digest Disassembly Manual for Semi-Auto pistols for Tokarov. No dice. Then scanning through it, I found a listing for the "Russian Tokarov". Bingo!
Modified to add: took it apart to clean it. I don't think the barrel was ever cleaned, and it was shot with corrosive ammo. Yuk!!!

Well, mine doesn't look as good as the one in the picture, but does it ever shoot. Problem is that I really don't understand why. I expected after seeing all the pitting in the barrel that it would be all over the place, but was pleasantly surprised. I really thought that the 7.62x25mm would have a rather harsh recoil like it does in the CZ-52. However, I think my prior opinion was because of the trigger slap in the CZ-52. I'll have to work on that, but for now - painting and plumbing. Oh, by the way, I would not hesitate to recommend this gun. P.S. Who knows what the background is for the picture?

looks like the underside of carpeting/rug to me.

Rose carpeting for your wife's new office.
It looks as if the trigger pivot point is at about 10:00 relative to the trigger finger. Is that right or is it actually higher? Seems like that would be a bit low for comfort.

And you would be correct. Someone gave the range a buch of old carpet samples that are in great condition. We use them to protect the guns from scratches. The one that I was using was a deep red color, and the gun wouldn't have shown up very well, so Ed just flipped it over.
Modified to add: MLB, that is the back side of the stupid safety that they added in order to import the gun. It looks real tacky from the other side. The trigger moves straight back like on a 1911. Now an engineer would probably notice that the bottom of the trigger is almost touching the trigger guard, so if there was a pivot point at the top... ;D
