The first thing I noticed on all my thumb break holsters, after I installed extended thumb safeties, was the fact that the extended safeties were not designed for use with these holsters. I then had to go to using the open top holsters instead, or reinstall my Colt factory thumb safety when carrying in a thumb break holster. I'm not referring to just the shoulder rigs, I'm also talking about the Bianchi #19 belt holster, one made by Safariland, another by Desantis, and one belt holster made by Galco. Among my holsters for the 1911, I found one which worked; A Viking Shoulder Rig. I know shoulder harnesses aren't for everyone but the belt holsters, with thumb break straps, do provide another level of safety in providing a block between the hammer and firing pin.
