I was in Academy Outdoors sporting goods yesterday, some of you may be familiar with that chain, looking at their ammo "selection." In 9 mm, all they had was ball ammo and the only brands were Magtech (Brazil) and Monarch (Serbia).
A friend of mine is on the lookout for me and when he finds hollowpoints, he gives me a call and I give him the yes or no, based on the price and brand. For a while, even FMJ was hard to find.
He went to the recent gun show in Houston and said there was lots of panic buying -- of pistols, black rifles, and ammo.
My Wal-Mart is completely out much of the time unless you want shotgun shells, .22 or .25.
What's the situation in your neck of the woods?
