Brownells sells some stuff they call Action Magic II. It sounds kind of interesting, but I'm wondering if anyone has had good or bad experience with it. I know in a couple of XavierBreath's posts he mentioned that he applied it to the sear and hammer hooks. Is it for real or is it snake oil?

TMan; I use the action magic on the sear and hammer hooks of my 1911s and Sigs, mostly to maintain lubrication to an already smooth action job. I have used a small amount on the rails on occaissions, since it is designed to reduce friction. I'm not sure but it looks like it might contain Molybdenum Disulfide, along with mineral oil.

Okay, it says to put on the stuff from the B bottle first and after it drys to use the powder from a an buff vigorously. Know those little cloth wheels that go on a Dremel? Would that be a good idea or not? Anyone try it?

TMan; Use the buffer on the lowest speed with the soft flanel buffing pads, and do not apply pressure to the surface. The Action Magic II is much different from the Action Magic because the II bonds to the surface like teflon.

I was getting ready to put the SA GI .45 back together when it dawned on me: why not use the Action Magic II on the frame and slide. The frame is easy, but I'm not sure how well I could get it into the groove on the slide.
That raised another question: since the slide and frame get a lot of work, should I use another lubricant in addition to the Action Magic II?
