I have had the Ed Brown jig and MSH for a year but haven't been able to find the time to install it...until today. I have it blended and so far everything looks good. I am still pondering refinish options and trying to determine if I need to reanodize the frame or not. In the meantime I have just Gun-Koted the MSH and bare metal on the frame. After I get the grips cut for it, I should have some more pictures.

Looks terrific, but now you're going to need custom grips. I know a guy that can hook you up though... ;D

I ended up applying Gun-Kote to the MSH, then I masked off the repaired area on the frame and applied Gun-Kote to it. The most important step; wait for the wife to go to bed....... now bake in oven. It matched up very well. I may do some sort of complete refinish with the frame in the future. I bought this gun to carry, so the finish is not really a high priority. *Edited* with better pictures.

TA; I'm thinking that the bobtail could really add to the concealability of the shorter officer length frames; much like what the round butt frames did for the revolvers.

DA, Yes that would really work well for an OM frame. The decreased grip surface may be an issue for shooters with larger hands. I don't think anybody is making a MSH for that yet though. I believe guys like George at EGW have done rounding mods to OM's to aid in concealability. I'll see if I can dig up a picture.

Also, notice the picture where the magazine release is sticking out. After reassembly I found that it was sticking. I reaseated it and it did it again. When I pressed the release, the key would clock and find it's way into the detent. I disassembled the release and oiled it. It seems to be working well now. I have never seen this and wonder if maybe it was a piece of glass bead or something doing that. It bothers me because this can completely disable the gun. I may just get a new release.

TA; I did notice the release but thought you had just forgot and left it in a rush to do the photo. I replaced a few of my locks with those featuring a hex head, from Ed Brown. I would try going over the release housing with some polish to see if that works, and maybe look at the spring.
