The 229 Sport pistol features a heavier Sauer match grade target barrel, ported muzzle brake compensator with expansion chamber, rear adjustable LPA sight, high profile front sight, extended controls, extended magazine base plate, action tuned trigger, and Hogue rubber grips. These pistols are hand assembled and hand fitted in Germany by one of Sig's master gunsmiths. The frame is precision machined from a solid block of stainless steel. The overall fit, finish, and smoothness of these pistols is flawless. I have two sports, one in .40 S&W with a handfitted 357 sig conversion barrel, and the other in 357 sig. The .40 S&W recoil is almost nonexistant, while the 357 sig is very mild. My only wish is that these pistols could have 1911 triggers. The rigid stainless frames and slides of these pistols have such smoothness in their operation and very solid feel. I wish I could find a 1911 with these frames, slides, and barrels.

Sorry no pictures, but I do have two: the P220 Sport and the P226 Sport, both of which have been discontinued. I can understand why they would drop the P226 Sport because it would have competed with the X-Five. However, I think dropping the P220 Sport was stupid.
I have a lot of guns and let a lot of different people shoot them. The one that has brought the most favorable comments has been the P220 Sport.
Unfortunately, I can't get to them at this point. I did pull out a few guns prior to the surgery, and that is what I have to shoot for the next few months.
