1911 HAMMERS « Thread Started on May 30, 2003, 9:16pm » One of my choices for a 1911 hammer is the Nowlin "Speed Demon". This hammer is cut from stainless steel then hardened to RC 50,the hooks are square cut, trimmed to .020", ground and polished, with a narrowed halfkock notch that won't damage the sear. I use this hammer with the EGW competition sear on two of my full length 1911s with triggers breaking clean at 3 lbs., using 18 lb. recoil springs, with not one single malfunction, including hammer follow, in over a thousand rounds fired from each pistol.

I save a lot because I don't order from kits, and I choose which parts I feel goes better together, without spending the extra cash.
