Many of the newer pistols are using MIM components in the fire control trigger system, including the use of MIM hammers, disconnectors, and sears. For someone not inclined to do their own trigger job, while upgrading the trigger components with those of hardened steel, these drop ins have been popular alternatives for a good while. If one has the knowledge to disassemble, reassemble, and understand the functions of the internal parts of a 1911, one can install one of these kits.
