Because I hold the grip with a high hold, the web of my shooting hand catches and rubs on the grip safety. I still have the scar, from using the old style grip safeties from Colt. I have since replaced all of my original safeties in order to make life easier on me, or it seem that way for awhile ;D
Enter the Wilson Combat CQB pistols; Part of the breaking in period called for a 500 rd. procedure, prior to cleaning or lubricating. Well; It took me almost 1,000. rds to wear down the abrasiveness of the grip safety. Without thinking, I should have polished the grip a little, before shooting pistols again instead of using the web of hand to do the polishing.
Just a reminder to those with the Parkerized finishes.
