Not sure where I got this pic, but I'd say it applies here. So many forwarded emails...

I guess you can always find a way to tote around some of the huge revolvers (S&W 500) and semiautos (Desert Eagle comes to mind) but, for me, it has to be light with small dimensions.
That pretty much limits me to .380 ACP and 9 mm, though there are some makers who produce a .40 as small as their 9 mm model. That usually produces pretty sharp recoil in a light handgun, however.
9mm is more manageable, for me, in the "mouse guns."

That's great. I had heard the motto before, but never seen it put to use for marketing.
My favorite: When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

I've been working to make my carry options more compact, without compromising my options for defense. In my State, we have the option of carrying open but I prefer to carry concealed. In the winter months, it's fairly easy to make a choice but the summer months has me digging into my safe for smaller pieces, like the S&W 640 Centennial.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

ML; I submitted your post to The AJC in Atlanta; Only Few are chosen as The Best, out of thousands the vents voted on.
"Highest Rated Vents / Clayton" "Why carry a gun ? A Policeman is too heavy."
Score: 70

Width seems to bother me more than length or weight. I have little problem concealing a full size handgun as long as it's 1-1/4" thick or less. Weight with a good belt for seems to be a nonfactor but that could be because I'm a carpet walker. Maybe if I labored for a living my opinion on that would differ.

TBT; Have you ever had something on your mind, and always forgot to say it ? That is exactly my point in buying to the slimmer 5 round cylinder in the S&W J-Frame 640. I also was looking for a slimmer pistol when I purchased my Colt Defender. I don't how many times that I said the same thing to myself.

I've been thinking about doing away with my extended thumb safeties on my compact 1911 pistols. The wider paddles hinders the low profile of the pistols, and also makes more difficult to use the thumb break straps.

I am happy with my Walther PPS 9mm for carry. Thickness = 1.04 inches. But I often grab my .357 5-shot snubby out of habit anyway.
