Well, I have been in computer hades today. I have a new Blu-Ray LG 390, which plays the HD disks, and it allows me to download movies from Netflex through the internet connection.
The problem is the Blu-Ray is under the TV, and I don't have ethernet under the TV. "No problem - use wireless."
LG recommends using 802.11n, which it "supports". After doing some checking, I installed a Linksys WRT320N because it supports 5.0GHZ in addition to 2.4GHZ. Since I already have 3 routers on channels: 1, 6, 11, I wanted to use the 5.0GHZ band. (Those channels don't overlap).
So it turns out that although LG says to use the "N" protocol, it only supports it on the 2.4GHZ band. Screwed again!!!
The solution is the Democratic Party way: throw more money at it. I had to order a Linksys WET610N Bridge, which will connect through the Ethernet port on the LG.
So beware: when they are talking about 802.11n, ensure they are compatible devices based on the frequency that they operate on.

TMan; I record my own DVDs from my DVD Recorder, off the incoming feed from my Satellite provider. My problem comes when I attempt to record a DVD from my computer and play it back on my DVD Player/Recorder. I tried to download conversion programs for DVD , but none seems to work.
If record my DVD on my computer, I'm stuck with watching it on the computer.
This is not true when I record a DVD Disc on a my DVD Recorder.
My program rest with the computer's program.

Well TMan, the blessing is that you have the wherewithal to know what the problem is, and fix it. Most folks would be at the mercy of what our local big box store calles "The Geek Squad". Mercenaries with mouses.
