I needed some new gym clothes so I stopped at Academy. Naturally I had to go by the gun counter. It was busy, and as I was looking at the handguns, there was a couple there looking to buy a handgun. The guy behind the counter was telling them that they should really buy the Taurus because of its lifetime warranty. "The Sig's only have a 1 year warranty."
What a Bozo. Believe me, it was extremely difficult keeping my mouth shut. I wanted to say that they will need the warranty, but I didn't. I think what got me the most was the tone of his voice and how he was talking down to them. I do not like people like that. It was like he was strutting in front of the customer's wife with his superior knowledge. Based on how the guy and his wife were dressed, he probably makes 10 times what the counter guy makes.

Not justifying the (typical) counter guy, but information is so plentiful these days, anyone that doesn't do their research on an important purchase gets what they deserve.

I judge the counter guys by "their content of their character", a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. on this holiday.
I don't like the way some counter guys tries to patronized the newbies, and I've bitten my own tongue on many occasions because it.
