An old cold blueing trick that works great and puts on a tough, good-looking finish is as follows: Use a hair dryer on high, or a heat gun on low, to warm the metal just to where it's too warm to keep your hand on it (but not too hot!) and then apply Oxpho-Blue with degreased 0000 steel wool in a circular motion. Rewarm the metal before each coat and repeat the application. The more coats you apply the better the color and the tougher the finish. Apply at least 3 coats, but more only makes it better!
