Well here is a weird little sucker: a Blunderbuss made in India, but it has a brass barrel. I wonder how that would hold up? The importer, www.middlesexvillagetrading.com/index.shtmlstates that the guns they import are not cheap junk. Anyone have any thoughts or own anything they sell?

Cannon used to be made of brass occasionally didn't they?
I have a decorative brass surveying compass imported from India. Looks nice. Emphasis on the decorative.

I knew a guy who had them. People always used to say, "that guy has brass barrels." Though, maybe I heard them wrong.

old cannons were made of bronze. Probably the most popular was the Napolean, or 12 pounder. Some were made of steel later on, but most were bronze. Not sure how a brass bbl would hold up, but I imagine if the loads were light and the lead not too hard, it would be ok.
