So while at Academy yesterday, I saw in the case a little nickle plated derringer (or pehaps chrome?). According to the card with it, it shot both 22LR and 22WMR, and all for a mere $199.99. I asked the counter guy (CG) who made it, and he said: "Bond Arms".
Well TMan knows a bargain when he sees it. "I'll take it." So the CG checks on the computer and they have another one in stock. He brings it out in its case, and the case says "Cobra". "Whoops, I made a mistake about the manufacturer" says the CG.
$200 is a great price for a Bond Arms, but a tad overpriced for a Cobra. No sale. Let the buyer beware; don't make emotional buys (that is what I tell my wife; I should learn to practice what I preach). ;D
Hey, I did not make an emotional buy. It was a cute little sucker too.
It would be interesting to compare the Cobra and the Bond Arms ($400) side by side and see if the price difference is justified. A derringer is a pretty simple handgun.
