"I'll never buy a 380"... "I doubt if I'll ever buy another Sig"... "I won't buy another small semi-auto..."... "I've fired a 380 and I didn't like it - I'd never buy one".
While Becky (dealer) was on the phone, I was looking around. She had several Sig P238's. I looked at a couple, but although they were nice, they were 380's. Then she got off the phone and said: "see the box with the 'RG', that means rosewood grips".
"Wow, that is a sweet looking little pistol; got any ammo?" "Yup, FMJ and HP."
I have got to stop saying: "I'll never...".
First impressions: 1) the EMP came with 3 magazines; the P238 with 1 magazine. What I don't like about that is if you do have a feeding problem, you can't just try it with a different magazine.
2) The pistol looks very much like a mini-1911, and is SAO (I'm not big on DAO except on a pure carry pistol, and I don't carry a pistol, I carry a revolver).
3) From a quick inspection, the trigger looks like that of a 1911. Let the buyer beware; it isn't. It is pivoted at the top.
4) It is basically at two-stage trigger. There is some take-up and then you feel some resistance. You move through the resistance and then you feel a stop (stage-2), you press and then there is a clean break.
Our range is closed until they replace the berms with a metal bullet stop on the pistol range. I'll upate this thread when I get a chance to shoot this thing. For now: Gentelman Jack has kicked in - going to bed.
