Just going to the range. My son and his wife are coming over from Georgia, and they want to go shoot some handguns. Guess I'll have to find some. ;D
I called him last night and told him to bring some old clothes. The 1HP pump on the streams went out yesterday. So I have to drain the sumps, pressure wash the rocks, and pull the pump out. I'll leave it shut down until spring. The dang pump is $1K. Let's see - how many Hi-Points is that?

We'll be visiting my wife's sister in San Antonio. She fell and broke her leg in two places. Be thankful if you enjoy good health.

sorry to hear of the injury. Good health is like air; no big deal unless you don't have it.
TMan, my pool pump wasn't nearly that much. That thing's not gold plated too is it?

The thing with pool pumps is they have competition. These submersible pumps are more expensive partially because they have to be oil filled and can't leak. I did find a place online that sells it for $781 plus shipping of course. www.toinepondsupplies.com/aquascapepro-10001.htmlI have what has turned into a rather large oleander down near the sump. I thought about installing a swimming pool pump and just hiding the pipes by running them under the shrub. Fortunately, before ordering one I went back on the side of the house while the pool pumps were running. When you have the pool cleaner's pump going, the standard pump, and the waterfalls pump, it is quite noisy. The nice thing about the streams is the peaceful sound of the water going over the rocks - you don't hear the pump becaue it is in a sump that is down 3' under water. If I went to an above ground pump, it would sort of defeat the purpose of the streams peaceful setting.

weather permitting, out on a boat for a day of swimming and sun. cleaning/home improvement projects, and mowing. Oh, I'll probably do some grilling something swine or bovine with some sweet corn and a cold beer or two.

It went well today: we pulled out the old pump and took it apart.
When we took the top off, I was surprised that it wasn't filled with oil like the sump pump was. However, when my son took off the lower unit, there was oil in it, and it went all over the grass. Like father - like son.
The problem was a bad bearing, the upper bearing, which was a bit of a surprise. There was also a bad O-ring that was stretched out. So we went to NAPA and got a new bearing, hydralic oil, super gue (to cut a chunk out of the o-ring and glue it back together, and some RTV because my son "just wanted to make sure".
So, $27 and 6 hours of labor later, the streams are back online, and including shipping, the saving were over $800.

Nothing like being able to fix things yourself. Now to fix the grass...

Oil changes on 2 vehicles, tractor and mower, wash/wax two vehicles, winterized the camper, started digging out for a paver walk I'm planning to add. I have another 3-4inches deeper to dig, then to fill it back in with gravel. Labor Day....

Managed to replace the pressure lines for the power steering on the truck. I'd starve as a mechanic, but at least there'll be no more fluid stains on the driveway...
