They will be making 400 of these. I can remember when I didn't care for fancy engraved stuff. I guess ones tastes change over time. Hmmm, hope I never move to San Francisco.

That is beautiful. Hope it shoots as good as it looks. I'd love to get a set of grips like those.

And the .380 arsenal grows. That one is a looker for sure.

"shoots as good as it looks". Did I say that?! My edjamakation must be wearing out. I need a refill.

As I write this, Camfour ,(a distributor your FFL can order from), has 6 of these in stock. They had 7. ;D

I just noticed that the grips cover the SN. Nice touch on a safe queen. The S&W laser engraved manufacturer mark stands out a bit, but at least it is on a part of the gun where it won't get in the way of the engraving. Too bad that they couldn't roll-mark it. That would look much better.

It is gorgeous, and at 2 ounces more than my 9mm, it would certainly spend a lot of time in the safe!

Ok, time to shed some more knowledge; I don't know what "roll-mark" means. By the way, since Pelosi and Obama are intent on income redistribution aka stealing millions from me, I wonder how they will steal my guns.

Ooh, a recursive thread link. That TMan is tricky. Fortunately, my processor timed out and I didn't' go into an endless loop. ;D Rollmarking (as I understand it) is the process of impressing the text into the firearm through pressure, as opposed to painting it on, laser etching, etc. Etched: Rolled:

Hey, I didn't do it. If you copy part of a thread, and then paste it as a quote, proboards now puts the link in there.
Thanks for the roll-mark education. However, I don't think it would be any better than etching. On the other hand, painting, link they did on the Texan LCP by Ruger, is really tacky. No, it didn't stop me from buying one. They are really hard to get. I won't shoot it because I'd be afraid to clean it afterwards. Besides, I have another one that I do shoot. I thought it was really uncomfortable to shoot compared to some of the other 380's. Then I bought the Hellcat - the Ruger is fine to shoot. ;D

A note on the Walther forum says that Walther (S&W?) will be issuing a special "Bond" edition of the ppk in January. I'm afraid of what they will come out with.

Well, S&W did a nice engraving job on the one I bought earlier. I'm wondering if the Talo edition (this thread) will be made by S&W or by Walther. If I have time, I'll run up to Becky's tomorrow or Friday. I expect it should be in by then. Right now I have to head to the hardware store. I'm running out of clean clothes and need to fix the dryer.
Modified to add: Yup, it has the S&W stamp on it. I got the stuff for the dryer and had time to go pick up the pistol. While waiting for Becky, I dry-fired it a few times. The trigger isn't bad at all.

We were shooting at 7 yards, and I had a short box of ammo i.e. only 25 rounds. I shot 15 rounds without really trying for accuracy. I handed it to Ed with the final 10 rounds. HE PUT 7 OF THE 10 into the SAME HOLE. I had no idea that this pistol could be that precise.

That is very good shooting! Even at 7 yards. It does have the fixed barrel going for it, but that's one short barrel.

Welcome to the Forum Stretch we are very glad to have you with us. That is a really nice gun to own. The only engraved gun I own is a 44 cal Black Powder pistol Army 1860 model. Its a nice gun but takes a while to load. All the rest are semi-auto's except for my Black powder rifles. One Anshutz 22 target rifle as well.
