A lot of shotguns in there, too many I think. I'd expected to see Henry's first levergun, a Tommy gun, and maybe a Brown Bess, or a Kentucky long rifle. A few handguns that seemed to be missing were the Colt Python, Walther's PP or PPK (though they did have the P38), and of course a Jennings ;-)
Guns I expected to find, but was pleasantly surprised not to see were the German Luger, IMI Desert Eagle, MAC-10, and UZI.

I don't consider a Uzi or MAC10 to really be a handgun. They are sub-machine guns. Eliminating the full auto doesn't really change much.
The Desert Eagle is in a class by itself: 44MAG, 50AE, those are powerful rounds for a semi-automatic. I've never shot the 50AE, but a guy at the range let me shoot his 44MAG, which convinced me that I needed one for the collection.
They also left out the Sig P210, which makes you wonder what they used for metrics to determine "the best".
Speaking of good guns, I've kind of given up hope on the Kimber Centennial; so, not wanting to hear: "you don't use all this money in the gun budget, so why can't I use it for...", I ordered the Sig. With the devaluation of the dollar thanks to the "NIC", I've given up any idea of ever owning a Korth.

Glad to see #17, even in the "non-Magnum " caliber. ;D

I'm not sure I could come up with 50. But after doing a little research on the Luger, I might have a change of heart.
Was it indeed the first successful autoloader? It appears to be. I got looking into it when it was mentioned in the Wiki page as such. I confused the comment with "the first successful DA/SA autoloader", which I believe to be the Walther PP. Indeed the Luger predates the PP by 20 years or so. Anyone know of a successful autoloader in use before the Luger?

So, are you going to share it with us or make us spend all our waking hours wondering. ;D ...I'm giving some thought to my picks, to make sure that it seems logical and within reasoning with everyone. I kinda wondered why the M-1 rifle wasn't on the list. I noticed that the M-14 was on the list. And what about The Mare's Laig ? ;D

Mare's Leg? You trying to kill me? I'm getting over the flu and still have a bad cough. I started laughing when I read that and...
Since I'm not worth a crap trying to do anything, I'm adding new guns to Becky's database. I noticed a new Henry H001ML entry for a Mare's Leg version in 22LR. However, I don't see anything on their web-site. That isn't unusual; a lot of times the distributor's list models that aren't listed on the manufacturer's web-site yet.
I wonder why I thought of you when I made that entry.
Modified to add: so I was a little premature in my post. They also have it in 45COLT with the SKU of H006CML.

TMan; Beware of the less expensive "Mare's Laig" pistols, they are probably made from cast parts.

I don't know DA. I've gotten several rifles from Henry Repeating Arms and they were quality products. However, I don't plan on ordering one.

Everyone has their own ideas and lists about what should and shouldn't be on the top lists. Still, I find them interesting to review. Since MLB brought up the first autoloading handgun, what about the first autoloading rifle? the Mondragon will make someone's list someday. (This is usually credited as the first autoloading rifle. It came from Mexico in 1887.)
interesting side note about the published list and photos. It appears at least a couple of the pictures were lifted from other forums. I recognized a couple of them (or some of the settings) from some of the other forums I belong to.
