I just found out that today is IBM's 100th Anniversary. They changed their name over the years, and their product line. They started out making meat-scales. Talk about "drift".
I still have some of their stock that I bought years ago. They don't pay the dividends that they once did, but I'm not ready to sell.

With a name like International Business Machines, you have a lot of latitude in what you can make.

I remember a friend worked for IBM and much of his retirement was in IBM stock. This was great, back when IBM was one of the big blues, but then they ran into some issues and stock crashed 50%. He's still working well into retirement. His big lesson he keeps repeating to us...too many eggs in one basket.
