My wife is currently on assignment in India. She has a single bedroom apartment in a 5-star hotel. The hotel is only 3 years old and it is nice, but not as nice as the Ritz-Carlton where we had an apartment in Shanghai.
Anyhow, a young man comes each day and puts soda in her refrig, and leaves her fresh fruit and cookies. She likes Diet Coke, and for awhile the hotel wasn't getting Diet Coke. He told me about it and said he was going to vacant rooms and pulling Diet Coke out of the refrig's and giving it to my wife. I was thinking: "rank has its privileges".
I really liked him. We talked quite a bit, and he told me that on the weekends my wife was always working on her computer. He asked me who she worked for and I told him. He leaned forward and said: "Know what my boss told me? The new CEO of the BPO is staying with us here at the hotel." I said: "Yes, that is my wife." His eyes got big, his mouth dropped open and he just stared at me. He said in disbelief: "Your wife?". I confirmed it.
My point of this post is that I'm really proud of my wife. India has a caste system, and even though it has been outlawed by the government, it still exists. Like God, my wife treats everyone the same, and I've noticed that the staff at the hotel really likes her because of it.
Her spending on clothes and jewelry gives me pause, but my guns give her pause.
As I've gotten older, and spend a lot of time in study, I'm convinced that there is a God. The universe is expanding, which means it had a beginning. I firmly believe it was created by a superior being: alien, God, it doesn't matter what you call him, but based on the evidence, there was a creation. Based on the news, I don't think He is really active in the world today, but in case I'm wrong, I have to thank him for my wife.
It is 2:46 AM here in DFW. Think I'll try to get some sleep.
