Fortunately, I was finally able to purchase one of these after the across the board 20% price hike. I wonder how much more it would have cost if they had actually cleaned it before shipping it. It was really dirty inside. It made me wonder if they really test fire these things or not. Since it holds 6 rounds, I loaded a 3" Magnum .410 7-1/2 shot, followed by a 454 Casull, followed by a 45 Colt, and then repeated the process. Considering the weight of the gun, the 410 rather surprised me with the amount of recoil. I hadn't shot these 3" shells before. The 454 Casull really had significant recoil and muzzle flip since it isn't ported. It tips the scales at 60.6oz, which is much heavier than the 44oz Ruger Super Redhawk a.k.a. The Alaskan. I shot the first cylinder and Ed shot the second one. The target was 50 feet away. All 8 of the handgun rounds hit various places on the target, but all were on the left side. What was surprising was the lack of pellets that hit the target. There couldn't have been more than a dozen. There must be a tremendous spread from that short barrel.

They make special SD .410 shells too. I think they have a couple of "plates" or slugs along with a few balls. Perhaps they would perform better.
I stopped into the local gunshop last night to see what they had under the glass. They finally got one of those Rem 1911's in. A nice old-looking Luger, and a presentation Schofield on consignment too. I didn't handle anything though. Noticed that the Walther SP-22-M1's are getting cheaper. $325 for the one they had new. I though they were more.

MLB, I want to shoot 000 Buckshot to see what it will do, but I'll probably have to go to Bass Pro Shops in order to do it. We don't allow buckshot at our club because of it tearing up the target frames.
I just checked our database and we don't have the SP22 Mn's listed anymore. That means that all of our distributors are no longer carrying it. Remember that I bought the M4 when they had a serious price drop. Becky was selling the M4 for $334 when I bought mine. (I paid less of course). So $325 for a M1 is no steal. In all fairness to your dealer, it depends when he bought his.
I think I mentioned that I get a daily report of any price change of 15% or greater. I always look at it closely. I have no idea why the distributors don't implement that in their code. I've seen them with a price having the decimal point in the wrong place. "Oh my God, we have inventory on that gun too. Thank you so much..."
We just saw some increases in Beretta too because of the falling dollar. I doubt if I'll be buying anything in the future that has been imported unless the distributor has a great sale.
