After shooting a box of Fiocchi 9mm with no failures, I then opened a box of Sellier & Bellot. Bang - click. No extraction. "Must be a fluke." Bang - click. No extraction. "Hmmm". Bang - click. Crap. I gave up.
I'm re-organizing the garage mainly to get my wife to shut-up. I don't know where my micrometers are. However, I do have a digital caliper. While watching the Republican debate, I grabbed some ammo and the caliper. Measuring the diameter of the cases, I found the following (all in mm):
Fiocchi - 9.72 Magtech - 9.72 Remington - 9.73 Independence -9.78 Sellier & Bellot - 9.38
There was nothing wrong with the S&B ammo, and there was nothing wrong with the pistol. Anyone take a guess what was the cause of the problem.

Hmmm. At first I was thinking hard primers. I think I recall this as an issue with S&B. The caliper readings have me thinking it may be a problem with your mag loader though ;-)

Ding, ding, ding, ding, and the winner is: MLB!!!
I sat here in my chair with the caliper and boxes of ammo on the floor. As I was typing the information into the forum, I looked down at the box and read past the opening 9mm and saw "Browning...".
I took the gun to the range today and it worked perfectly with the 9mm Luger ammo.

Despite the fact that I've only reloaded once, I still keep and separate my brass (I have a bunch of it now). Telling the difference between 380 and 9mm cases is a pain. I try not to shoot them at the same time. Regardless, I usually end up picking up someone else's odd off-caliber case.

Well how the heck the box got in with the Luger ammo is beyond me. However, I learned something from it: check and double check. By the way, one of our range officers had his Glock go Kaboom with reloaded ammo. He sent it back to Glock and they charged him $170. The only original part left was the slide. So basically a new gun for $170. Why don't I reload. Crap, I can't even keep factory ammo straight.

I have a bad opinion about the Sellier & Bellot ammo, in .45 acp....Mostly, I don't think that this ammo is meant for pistols, but rather for Submachine Guns. My Wilson's hated this ammo.
