Anyone been watching this series? It's on History.com and is an elimination type contest for mostly pistol and rifle marksmanship, but also the occasional archer, knife thrower, and rock throwing competition. Most of these folks are very good with a handgun. A few are just good enough to make you think you could compete though. Makes the program interesting. www.history.com/shows/top-shot

I've watch a few episodes each season. This season they seemed to want to add a little more drama by bringing in a loud mouth football coach/former navy seal to keep the poop stirred up on and off the range. You are right, some of the contests make me think that I could do better than some of thos guys. (others of them, definitely not!) It is certainly better than most of the other reality TV out there. They do come up with some interesting challenges, like the seated zip line pistol shooting. And some not so much, like throwing rocks at cans...
Kind of like Sons of Guns too. They seem to be "Hollywooding" things more each season. Working in a bit of romance to the story, and some of the gun builds/ammo are just a bit out there. Like when they made a big deal about trying to find/make the 7.7x 58 (7.7Jap) ammo. Privi and Hornady both offer newly manufactured ammunition. Or the 1000yd AK sniper, theirs was an AK by name only. No doubt they made a fine rifle with a custom AK action, match barrel, short stroke gas system, etc. The long range AK action has been done before: the Romanian FPK/PSL/Romak3, and the Yugo M76. (not as precise as the one they built, but...)

The loudmouth guy seems to be that guy that everyone loves to hate. He can shoot though.
I've only seen Sons of Guns a few times. Can't seem to get into it. A long range AK sniper rifle eh? That's sort of like using a cold chisel for fine checkering I'd think. ;D
