CBP has a program called GOES, that lets you use a terminal to enter the country and bypass long lines. It was $100 to join and you had to have your picture taken, fingerprints, and have an interview. I had this all done at DFW yesterday and fortunately my interviewer was a gun guy. I noticed his carry gun and asked him if it was an H&K. He said that it was and that he hated it. It was a P2000, and they issued that in lieu of the old Glock 17's that they used to carry. In particular he said that he hated the trigger on the P2000. Looking at their web-site, www.hk-usa.com/civilian_products/p2000_general.asp, I'm guessing that they have the LEM version with a heavy trigger pull. I mentioned that I liked my Elite, Expert, and Mark 23, and he responded that they were much better from what he heard. (I think at some time that I bought a P30, but I'm not positive). He then mentioned that while he was away with my passport, he was going to ask me about my frequent trips to India, but decided it wasn't necessary based on the information that I'd volunteered. Yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail that I'd been approved, and guess what? I wasn't surprised. It is nice when you run into a gun guy.

I know a few LEOs that aren't really "gun guys", they carry because they need to, but aren't particularly interested in them. I've thought to question a few security type guys about their revolvers, but decided against it. Glad you're interviewer had an interest.
