This extraordinary GLOCK G 22, hand-engraved in Austria in commemoration of GLOCK's 25th Anniversary in the U.S. and selected from the personal collection of Gaston Glock, has been selected as the 2012 SHOT Show auction handgun.
This very special GLOCK, known within the company as the "GLOCK Statue of Liberty Gun," features an intricate, hand-engraved tribute to the Statue of Liberty. This theme was selected to recognize that GLOCK's 25th Anniversary coincides with the 125th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
Since its creation, the "GLOCK Statue of Liberty Gun" has been part of the personal collection of GLOCK Founder, Mr. Gaston Glock. Through the SHOT Show auction, however, GLOCK has made the gun available to the dedicated community of GLOCK collectors and enthusiasts
"Often times, the misconception is that GLOCK's limited edition pistols, such as the 'Statue of Liberty Gun" are hidden away in company vaults," stated GLOCK Vice President, Gary Fletcher. "With the company celebrating 25 years in the United States, Mr. Glock wanted to give those who helped the company achieve that milestone of success an opportunity to own this one-of-a-kind piece."
In addition to ownership of the exclusive "GLOCK Statue of Liberty Gun", the high bidder for this SHOT Show handgun will be a VIP guest on a hunting trip with GLOCK spokesperson, R. Lee "The Gunny" Ermey. The trip will be for two days and one night. Timing, destination and type of game hunted will be coordinated with GLOCK and the high bidder.
Rounding out an impressive package of extras, the high bidder will also receive an original 11" x 15" blueprint drawing of the original GLOCK 17, signed by the GLOCK, Inc. president.
The Statue of Liberty Gun is new in box. The .40 caliber G 22 was introduced at the 1990 SHOT Show to close the gap between the .45
and the internationally proven 9 x 19mm service calibers. Today, countless police units in the United States and throughout the world put their trust in the 15-round GLOCK G 22.
