DA, you never give up do you? Well DON'T!!!! I found in China there were two kinds of "fakes". One was like what was in the video, but the others were factory overruns. There were two types of fake Rolex watches. The cheapest had a quartz movement, and the better one had the self winding movement. Naturally I went for the better one. It lasted a little over a year, and as I mentioned before, I liked it enough that I bought a real Rolex. I could have bought a Korth. Keep in mind that big name companies, like Toshiba are manufacturing in China. They are run by the Japanese, but take advantage of the cheap, and sometimes extremely skilled, labor force in China. There are some high quality products that are coming out of China. The Chinese refer to these as "export" quality. All of the higher quality fake Rolex's had the same serial number. We bought some Chanel purses for my wife and daughter and they had individual warranty cards with unique numbers. Looking at the quality, it was easy to see that these were either factory over-runs or for some reason didn't quite meet Chanel's quality standards. Since I buy nearly all of my wife's clothes, I can tell you that Chanel has high standards. Their stuff is really pricy, but you can really see the difference in a Chanel jacket for $7,000 vs and Escada for $3,000. As for your second video. He is the greatest president this country has ever had. He has brought this country "Hope and Change". Were it not for President Obama, the unemployment rate in this country would be 35%, and we would be in a deep depression. So what if the country owes trillions of dollars. All they have to do is print more money. I've got to get out of the sun.

TMan; The Chinese and the Koreans are very well known to cheap knockoffs. When I was in Korea, there was record stores with Copies of LPs of American Musical Artists......Even the Album Covers was reproduced.
.....As you already know; The Chinese is the most notorious for copying...Very Well Known for Cheap Knockoffs !!!!
....The company that I retired from, has a factory in China ( maybe a few ). Some products is very difficult to copy or reproduce. The Company also has factories in Japan, Europe, and the Middle East.
....Self Winding Seiko Watches has been my choice, since 1970....Timex is my second choice active use.
.....The Chinese Culture made a mark on the world many years ago, without having to copy others. I wish that it would be so in today.
...TMan; You mentioned the fact that you once lived in Cobb County, Ga. ; Did you ever eat at The China Palace Restaurant in Marietta ?

DA, I don't remember the name of the place, but we used to go to a Chinese Restaurant that had a buffet. They had crab legs on the buffet, and I remember my son used to eat a lot of the crab legs.
My favorite restaurant in Marietta, Captain Billy's, went out of business. That was a sad day when that happened because it was one of the kid's favorite eating places.
5OT, I knew of Norinco, but I didn't know that they made all those different models. This is probably a naive question: do they do this under license?
I have a single-shot 12 GA shotgun that was made in China. I remember paying $70 for it, which was Becky's cost. It had been on the shelf for a long time and I liked the Chinese writing on the box. Yup, I bought a gun for the box it was made it. The box currently resides upstairs in a shed in the back of one of the rental properties in Dallas. I don't know the name of the company that made it. I was never good at those Chinese characters. ;D

Tman, While I don't know for certain, I'd bet very heavily that Norinco does not have license or contract to produce these from the original production companies.

Not that it's a Chinese knockoff, but I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a makarov when they were $120.

I was too busy browsing for Colts, S&W Revolvers, and Sig Sauers at that time. ....The Chinese don't abide by patents, trademarks, or copy rights from other Nations.

Not that it's a Chinese knockoff, but I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a makarov when they were $120. There aren't too many cheap surplus guns on the market anymore. the Cz82's, the Polish P-64 (VERY hard DA pull, btw. But easily fixed with new springs) are about the only cheap handguns. Well there is the Nagant, but most people view that as a curiosity than a viable handgun. Rifles sure are drying up too. 5-6yrs ago, there were $100SKS, $75-120 mausers, $45 M-44 and 91/30s, $65 Steyr M95. About all that is left are the Russian MN 91/30's selling for $75+. But the real story is the availability of surplus ammo. I was buying 8mm and 7.62 x 54 for .03-5/rd. Now that SAME ammo is selling for .20+/rd.

5OT, I'm still very impressed with the Nagent. Especially after I figured out how to tighten up the grips. It does have a very heavy trigger pull, but in spite of that I was very impressed with the accuracy even with me shooting it.
