I call bunk. The governement has been selling brass for years. I used to follow government surplus lots and there were routinely lots of mixed brass for sale. It would often be sold in several ton lots. Some of it was artillary shells and scappers would buy it for scrap value. Small arms casings were sold for scrap or deprimmed and sized then resold to reloaders etc. Here are some auctions: 926lbs of 9mm cases2,414lbs of 9mm cases76,819lbs of .223 cases

5on; Maybe you can help me find the reason behind the shortage of .45 acp brass.
....I know that there are some that buys bulk and cleans out the stores when a ammo arrives.

Well, .45ACP from the military will be in short supply. The standard caliber is 9mm. I know there are some that are issued .45's, but the majority are not. Lots of 9mm, .50BMG, 7.62x51, 5.56x45 though.

..When the military changed over to the 9mm, nothing seemed to changed......Until about 7 years ago, and it started to get worse on the .45 acp supply.
.....Maybe with the popularity of the Newly introduced 1911 pistols on the rise, this might have something to do with it.
